14 DAYS 12 NIGHTS TOUR OF EGYPT, JORDAN, AND ISRAEL
Day 01 USA
Today we depart for our overnight flight to Cairo, Egypt.
Day 02 Cairo (B.D.)
We arrive in the land of the Pharoahs, Jacob, Joseph and Israel during the famine. Upon arrival in Cairo we meet our guide and driver who will transport us to the hotel for dinner and rest for the remainder of the evening. We relax tonight as we prepare for the adventurous travel ahead.
Day 03 Cairo (B.D.)
Today we travel back to ancient Egypt with a full day of touring to the wonders of the ancient world, some of which date back to 1000+ years prior to Abraham. We spend time at one of the seven wonders of the world, the pyramids. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built. Today, we will also see the sphinx and tour the Egyptian museum, location of Tutankhamen’s treasures and ancient remains.
Day 04 Sinai (B.D.)
This morning we depart Cairo towards Sinai. We will cross the Red Sea and after several hours will arrive at St. Catherine’s Monastery. Inside the monastery, priceless icons, legend says that the well there is actually Jethro’s well and just behind the St. Catherine’s basilica within the walls one can see the tree also called “burning bush”.
Day 05 St. Catherine –Taba-Petra (B.D.)
Early morning we depart St. Catherine’s and drive towards Taba where we
Will take a ferry boat across the Red Sea to Aqaba. Begin our tour with a
Drive via Wadi Mussa to Petra. Proceed by foot into this dream like, unreal
World: the “Rose-Red City” of Petra, with its incredibly beautiful temples,
carved into solid rock and forgotten for 500 years. This is the Mount Seir and
the Selah of the Old Testament. We will view the places of sacrifice, the old
tombs dating back to 100 B.C., El Deir Monastery, Aaron and the royal
palaces. Check into the hotel in Petra.
Day 06 Amman-Madaba-Nebo-Allenby Bridge (B.D.)
Today we head for Jordan to go to Madaba, one of the ancient maps of the Middle East and then on to Mount Nebo, from which to view the Promised Land. Continue to the Jordan /River and visit the traditional site that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Continue to Amman for a short orientation tour of the city before checking into the hotel in Amman.
Day 07 Jerusalem (B.D.)
Drive from Amman to the Allenby Bridge to cross over to Israel. After crossing the Allenby Bridge, meet with the Israel guide and begin your touring program of the Holyland. Drive via ancient Jericho with a view of the Mount of Temptations to Quasr El Yehud – the baptismal point on the River Jordan, near Jericho for baptism service. Continue down to Qumran for a visit and then return back up to Jerusalem. Panoramic view from the Mount of Olives.
Day 08 Jerusalem (B.D.)
Full day Old City – Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount area. Same day, you will visit the Church of St. Anne, Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed crippled man. Group will follow the way of the Cross, Via Dolorosa, Lithostrotos, Chapel of Flagellation, and the day will end by the Holy Sepulcher.
Day 09 Jerusalem (B.D.)
After breakfast, we will leave for old Jerusalem, visiting Mr. Zion, Upper Room earby Dormition Abbey. Same day visit continues with Mount of Olives with Church of the Holy of Ascension, rather modern Pater Noster church then Dominus Flevit church, Gardens of Gethsemane with the church of all Nations and at the end St. Peter’s in Gallicantu. Return to your hotel.
Day 10 Bethany – Dead Sea Yaradenit (B.D.)
Today, we are on the way to the place where Jesus went to visit his friend Lazarus, Bethany (Lazarus tomb), continue then to Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls), Dead Sea, by ancient Jericho to Jordan River. Here at River Jordan at Yaradenit Garden pilgrims will have a chance to renew their baptismal vows. Past the Mount of Temptation we are back for dinner.
Day 11 Tiberias – Nazareth (B.D.)
Today, you will leave Jerusalem and visit Tiberias. Today’s pilgrimage includes boat ride across Sea of Galilee and visit to the Capernaum, St. Peter’s House and Synagogue area where Jesus spent most of his time preaching. Short bus ride to the Mount of Beatitudes. Last stop today will be at the Primacy of St. Peter, Church of Multiplications of the loaves and fishes in Tabgha.
Day 12 Nazareth (B.D.)
Most of the day pilgrims will spend visiting Nazareth. Visit will include Church and Cave of the Annunciation, workshop of St. Joseph, Ancient Synagogue, Mary’s Well & Fountain. Same afternoon will depart for Mount Tabor visiting the Church of Transfiguration.
Day 13 Cana – Mt. Carmel (B.D.)
From Nazareth, we leave today first to visit Cana, Jesus’ first miracle. Great place to celebrate the mass and renew your marriage vows. Then continue to Haifa area and Mount Carmel to visit the Carmelite Monastery.
Day 14 Tel-Aviv/USA
Transfer to Tel-Aviv airport for flight back home to the U.S.
